Bioderma Sensibio vs Sebium vs Atoderm: Which Range Is Right for You?

Bioderma skincare range Sensibio Sebium Atoderm comparison

Bioderma is one of the most trusted names in clinical skincare — famous for inventing micellar water technology and for creating dermatologically rigorous formulas that are consistently recommended by dermatologists and skin clinics worldwide. But Bioderma makes three quite different ranges — Sensibio, Sebium and Atoderm — each designed for very different skin types and concerns. Choosing the wrong range will not give you the results you are looking for, so here is a complete guide to help you find the right Bioderma products for your skin.

Bioderma Sensibio — For Sensitive and Rosacea-Prone Skin

The Sensibio range is Bioderma's range for sensitive, reactive and rosacea-prone skin. It is built around Bioderma's original micellar water technology — first developed as Sensibio H2O — and the entire range shares a formulation philosophy of maximum tolerance with zero aggression. Every product in the Sensibio range is fragrance-free, soap-free, hypoallergenic and clinically tested for sensitive skin tolerability.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water

The original micellar water. The micelles in the formula act like tiny magnets, gently lifting and dissolving makeup, SPF and impurities from the skin surface without rubbing or rinsing. Suitable for face and eyes, it removes even waterproof mascara without any tugging. Available in 100ml (travel) and 250ml sizes. This is the gentlest possible way to cleanse sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin.

Bioderma Sensibio Foaming Gel

A gentle foaming face wash for sensitive skin that cleanses without disrupting the skin barrier or triggering redness. Fragrance-free and soap-free, it leaves skin clean, refreshed and comfortable rather than tight or stripped.

Bioderma Sensibio AR+ Cream and Micellar Gel

The AR+ products are specifically formulated for skin prone to rosacea and chronic redness. The AR+ Cream is an anti-redness moisturiser that reduces the biological causes of rosacea redness rather than simply masking it cosmetically. The AR+ Micellar Gel provides the same anti-redness, soothing action in a cleansing format. Both are exceptional choices for anyone managing rosacea symptoms alongside a clinical treatment routine.

Bioderma Sensibio Anti-Redness BB Cream SPF30

A light coverage BB cream with SPF30 and a golden tint for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin. Reduces visible redness, provides sun protection and gives a light, natural-looking coverage — ideal for those who want some coverage on reactive skin without using makeup that might irritate.

Choose Sensibio if: Your skin is sensitive, reactive, prone to redness, rosacea-prone, or if you need the gentlest possible cleansing with no risk of irritation.

Bioderma Sebium — For Oily and Acne-Prone Skin

The Sebium range is Bioderma's range for combination, oily and acne-prone skin. It is formulated around a specific complex — fluidactiv — that regulates sebum quality and helps prevent the oxidation of sebum that triggers acne development. Like all Bioderma ranges, Sebium products are fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and clinically tested.

Bioderma Sebium H2O Micellar Water

The same micellar technology as Sensibio H2O, formulated specifically for oily and acne-prone skin. Removes makeup, SPF and excess oil without stripping the skin barrier or leaving a drying residue. Available in 250ml and 500ml sizes — the 500ml is excellent value for daily double-cleansing use. One of the most recommended first steps for any acne-prone cleansing routine.

Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel

Available in standard and Active formulas. The standard Foaming Gel provides gentle daily cleansing with the fluidactiv complex for oily skin. The Active version adds a higher concentration of zinc gluconate and salicylic acid for more significant anti-blemish activity — one of the best daily cleansers available for active breakouts.

Bioderma Sebium Lotion

A mattifying face toner that rebalances combination to oily skin, reduces the appearance of pores and improves surface clarity. The triple-action formula cleanses residual impurities, rebalances sebum and tightens pores — a useful step for those who want to refine and control their skin between cleansing and serums.

Bioderma Sebium Sensitive and Sebium Hydra

Both are non-comedogenic daily moisturisers for oily and acne-prone skin. Sebium Sensitive is the lighter formula for everyday use — soothing, anti-blemish and suitable for use alongside medical acne treatments. Sebium Hydra is the richer option for skin that is particularly dry due to prescription treatments like Roaccutane, providing intense hydration without triggering breakouts.

Bioderma Sebium Kerato+

A targeted anti-blemish gel-cream for stubborn blemishes, combining a high tolerance formula with visible results within two days of application. Apply to individual blemishes as a spot treatment.

Choose Sebium if: Your skin is oily, combination, prone to blackheads, regular breakouts or acne. Also the right choice if you wear heavy makeup or sunscreen regularly and need thorough daily oil removal.

Bioderma Atoderm — For Dry, Very Dry and Eczema-Prone Skin

The Atoderm range is Bioderma's most intensive and emollient range — designed for dry, very dry and eczema-prone skin across the face and body, including babies and children. The entire range is focused on restoring and maintaining the skin barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss and providing long-lasting relief from dryness and irritation.

Bioderma Atoderm Cream 500ml

The daily body moisturiser at the heart of the Atoderm range. Ultra-rich, non-greasy and suitable for the whole family. Apply generously immediately after bathing to damp skin for best results. The 500ml pump format makes daily generous application practical and cost-effective.

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Balm and Ultra-Soothing Emollient Cream

More intensive formulas for severely dry areas or during flares. The Intensive Balm is particularly useful for elbows, knees, hands and any area of the body that is persistently dry or cracked. The Ultra-Soothing Emollient Cream is specifically formulated for eczema-prone skin with an anti-itching action alongside emollient benefits.

Bioderma Atoderm SOS Anti-Itching Spray

Provides immediate relief from the urge to scratch during eczema flares — applied as a spray to avoid friction on affected areas. One of the most useful acute management tools for active eczema.

Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil and Body Wash

Soap-free, fragrance-free body washing options that cleanse without stripping the barrier. The Cleansing Oil is more emollient and better for very dry or eczema-prone skin. The Body Wash provides a more traditional shower gel experience for those with normal to sensitive skin who still want gentle formulation.

Choose Atoderm if: Your skin or body is dry, very dry, eczema-prone, itchy or prone to flaring with conventional skincare or washing products. Also the right choice for babies and children with sensitive or eczema-prone skin.
